Black Diamond Beads Jewelry

Joy Bryant, the charismatic actress attended an NBC fete in Los Angeles wearing black diamond beads. The dusky beauty wore a thick strand of black beads entwined with metal chains. Another place where black diamonds, though not exactly black diamond beads shone in all their dark-hued glory, was the recently concluded 63rd Primetime Emmy Award ceremony.

Joy-bryant black diamond beads jewelry

The 2011 Emmy Awards (also held at Los Angeles) saw a mind-blowing array of jewelry on the red carpet. Foremost among the jewels worn by stars was black diamond jewelry. Black diamonds, sometimes complemented by their white counterparts and set in platinum were all the rage (more of that in a minute). But first, more of Joy’s style first. Joy added the funky black diamond beads accessories to her graphic Madewell shorts and blazer combo adding a fun element to her decidedly androgynous look.

The beaded necklace is chunky, and drapes close to the collar bone emphasising Joy’s slender neck. Black diamonds are all the rage this season – a fact proven by several A-list celebs sporting the black-white diamond combination in platinum. Julie Bowen, who won an Emmy for her role as Clare Dunphy on Modern Family, looked ravishing in a pair of pear shaped black diamond drop earrings with white diamond pave surround designed by Neil Lane. Julie wore a monochromatic beaded gown by Oscar De La Rentaand the elegant earrings along with a matching black diamond bracelet that was slim, sleek and bordered with white diamonds in a pave setting and completed the ensemble perfectly.

Gwynneth Paltrow black diamond jewelry

Gwyneth Paltrowtoo jumped on the black diamond bandwagon. The slender star chose princess cut black diamond earrings surrounded by a cluster of white diamonds also by Neil Lane to go with her daring, two-piece Emilio Pucci gown.  Gwynnie’sNeil Lane drop earrings weighed a total of 7 carats and her two diamond bracelets (one with black diamonds and the other with white) topped out at 100 carats. She also sported a diamond, onyx, and platinum ring to add to all that bling. If not the extravagant black and white jewelry, Gwyneth’s see through, cut-work gown was enough to garner attention and apropos.

Amy Poehler, the Parks & Rec funny lady wore black diamond rose cut swing earrings that were an interesting departure from the ubiquitous drop earrings that abounded on the Emmy’s red carpet this year. Amy also matched the pair with a humungous black diamond ring surrounded by tiny white diamonds in a close pave setting. Both pieces were by Martin Katz known for his vintage-inspired creations. Amy’s shiny royal blue gown’s solidity was broken by a thin black under-bustbelt that matched with her black diamond accessories.

Evan

It was all black too for goth-chic Evan Rachel Wood who wowed in an exquisitely wicked figure-hugging black Elie Saab creation. The slicked back blonde hair and art deco jewelry made Evan stand out. Fred Leighton was the creative mind behind that extremely well-conceptualized jewelry. A cuff in blackened metal, a ring and barely-there hanging earrings peeping out from beneath the slickly gelled hair coiffed to perfection- all with some amount of black diamonds reinforces our belief that black diamonds are the in thing this year.

So, whether it’s black diamonds beads jewelry or faceted black diamonds- it has been proved that black diamonds have set off a mini-trend of their own this season. What’s more they are comparatively more affordable than white diamonds and so if you are looking for an excuse to indulge in the season’s latest trend now is the right time. Black rules, not only on the red carpet but also off it.
